We’re building the continuity layer.

LastShelf started with a simple observation: in most households, one person holds the list of bills in their head. When that person travels, gets sick, or steps out for a while, the list goes with them.

Autopay doesn’t fix that. Budgeting apps don’t fix that. Someone needs to be able to step in, see what’s owed, and pay it — without hijacking an account or hunting for paper bills.

So we’re building the shelf where every bill goes. Discovered from your inbox. Approved by you. Payable, if needed, by someone you trust.

Principles

  • Tell, don’t do. We surface obligations and notify humans. We don’t auto-pay.
  • Continuity over features. Every trade-off favors the person who might have to step in for you.
  • Best-effort plus manual override. Every automated decision can be corrected by hand.
  • Single-user simplicity. You own your data. Dependents are contacts, not users.
